Double-Nozzle Flame Spray Pyrolysis as a Potent Technology to Engineer Noble Metal-TiO2 Nanophotocatalysts for Efficient H2 Production

چکیده

Noble metal-TiO2 nanohybrids, NM0-TiO2, (NM0 = Pt0, Pd0, Au0, Ag0) have been engineered by One-Nozzle Flame Spray Pyrolysis (ON-FSP) and Double-Nozzle (DN-FSP), controlling the method of noble metal deposition to TiO2 matrix. A comparative screening two FSP methods was realized, using NM0-TiO2 photocatalysts for H2 production from H2O/methanol. The results show that DN-FSP process allows engineering more efficient nanophotocatalysts. This is attributed better surface-dispersion narrower size-distribution onto In addition, promoted formation intraband states in lowering band-gap Thus, present study demonstrates a highly technology fine photocatalysts, which adds up inherent scalability towards industrial-scale

Decoration of size-tunable CuO nanodots on TiO2 nanocrystals for noble metal-free photocatalytic H2 production.

We report a simple yet effective approach for the decoration of the TiO2 nanocrystal surface with size-tunable CuO nanodots for high-performance noble metal-free photocatalytic H2 production. Modification with polyacrylic acid enables the surface of TiO2 nanocrystals to be selectively deposited with Cu(OH)2 nanodots, which can be subsequently converted to CuO through dehydration without changin...

Experimental characterization of the Double Flame Spray Pyrolysis Process based on the deposition of Pt on a TiO2 support

Flame Spray Pyrolysis (FSP) is a well investigated high temperature aerosol technique for synthesizing nano-sized metal oxide catalysts of almost all metals and transition metals by gas-to-particle conversion (Teoh et al. 2010). However, specific designs of multi-component catalysts and the controlled dispersion of catalytic material on the support are limited with this approach. Double Flame S...

Enhancing the photocatalytic efficiency of TiO2 nanopowders for H2 production by using non-noble transition metal co-catalysts.

Co and Ni-nanoclusters are attractive alternatives to Pt catalysts for hydrogen generation. These earth abundant elements when loaded onto the TiO(2) nanopowders surface act as efficient co-catalysts. Co, Ni-decorated TiO(2) photocatalysts display only three (3) times lower catalytic activities for H(2) evolution under UV illumination compared with Pt-decorated TiO(2) photocatalysts.

Selectivity Enhancement by Using Double-Layer MOX-Based Gas Sensors Prepared by Flame Spray Pyrolysis (FSP)

Here we present a novel concept for the selective recognition of different target gases with a multilayer semiconducting metal oxide (SMOX)-based sensor device. Direct current (DC) electrical resistance measurements were performed during exposure to CO and ethanol as single gases and mixtures of highly porous metal oxide double- and single-layer sensors obtained by flame spray pyrolysis. The re...

Cubic or monoclinic Y2O3:Eu nanoparticles by flame spray pyrolysis

Monocrystalline cubic and/or monoclinic Y2O3:Eu nanoparticles (10-50 nm) were synthesized continuously without post-processing by single-step flame spray pyrolysis (FSP). These particles were characterized by Xray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption (BET) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Photoluminescence (PL) emission was measured as well as the time-resolved PL-intensity decay. ...
